Reverend Dr. Alan Keiran
Office of the Senate Chaplain
Washington, DC
Date of Prayer: 06/12/2012
Opening Prayer Given by the Guest Chaplain:
Lord God Almighty, in the midst of challenging times You give us wisdom from Your Word saying, “Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.” (Psalm 46:10)
Today, please give the Members of this House and their staffs the resilience to weather all controversy with grace and do to others what they would like done to them. May civility and mutual respect be the hallmarks of this and every future Congress, and may Your great Name be lifted high in this Nation.
Allow us all to give You honor through our service to America and its citizens. Commission us to do Your will daily so that You will receive all the honor, glory and praise.
Lord, please bless all deployed military members and their families with Your abiding presence. Surround our military members in harm’s way with Your great favor. We ask this in the Name of the One who was, who is, and who is coming again. Amen.
