Reverend Andrew Walton
Trinity Presbyterian Church
Clearwater, FL
Date of Prayer: 05/25/2018
Opening Prayer Given by the Guest Chaplain:
Eternal presence known by many names and served through many traditions, as servants and sages have done for millennia, we all come to Your well of truth with leaking buckets.
Our prayer today is for Your winds of wisdom, compassion, and love that blow throughout creation, to sweep through these Chambers of governance, crossing aisles and permeating ideologies of separation, inspiring those who work here toward conversations and decisions that
yield peace, justice, and equity for the common good and dignity of all people.
As so many in this city and around our country prepare for days of recess, rest, relaxation, and recreation, may we remember the multitudes of people who have no resources in their lives for
recreation, relaxation, or rest. In remembering them, may we be moved with compassion for them and be inspired toward acts of peace, justice, and love for all people. Amen.
