Opening Prayer Given by the Guest Chaplain:
God of peace, we ask Your blessing upon us and our country, and we pray that as we celebrate the birth of our Nation later this week, that gratitude would fill our hearts for the land that we call home.
May we remember that the values that first formed our Nation, values like freedom, justice, equality, are never to be taken for granted, and so may we be grateful for all who gave their lives to ensure those values would remain the foundation of America's heart and soul.
May our own lives, too, reflect the very best of who we are and can be, and may Your blessing, God, continue to abide with us all. Amen.
