Opening Prayer Given by the Guest Chaplain:
Dear Father in Heaven, we ask Your blessing upon this body and all its Members as they seek to serve the people of this Nation. In our country, we believe that every person matters and every voice should be heard. Help the Members of Congress as they travel in their districts to listen with hearts of faith to the cares and concerns of their constituents. May they also find time to rest and enjoy their own families as well during this recess.
Grant them safe travel back to this Chamber so they can conduct the important business of our country. Finally, dear Lord, give the Members of this body the virtue of courage in difficult times, the virtue of charity in all times, and at the end of the day, the certain knowledge that they have served their country well. Amen.
