Opening Prayer Given by the Guest Chaplain:
Good and gracious God, as the days of summer come to a close and as we look forward to the busy days of fall, we pray that You would cast out the darkness of discord in our country and in this place.
May Your Holy Spirit descend upon us and usher in a new time of unity, mutual respect, and peace.
May You give to this place and to all those who will gather here a special grace of joy and peace.
We pray this in Your holy name. Amen.
