Opening Prayer Given by the Guest Chaplain:
Father of all nations, release Your power to heal our Nation.
We know that You see everything, even secret and hidden things. God of Heaven, let truth reign. Let what is done in secret be shouted from the housetops. Bring justice and righteousness to this House. Forgive us when pride, selfishness, and greed have been the motivators for evil behavior. We seek Your face today, believing that You will heal our fractured system and expose all dishonesty.
Bind the lying spirit of Satan and remove corruption, falsehood, and bias. Let discernment rule and wisdom permeate our decision makers.
Reveal what needs to be revealed and cover what needs to be covered.
May a spirit of unity and harmony come over both Chambers of Congress. Silence the voices of contention and division, amplify voices of
healing and progress for Your glory and the good of this land.
In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
