Opening Prayer Given by the Guest Chaplain:
Good and gracious God, President Kennedy encouraged us not to ask what our country can do for us, but what we can do for our country.
Jesus of Nazareth said that He had not come to be served but to serve.
Lord, may we embark upon this new day, and every day, with that same spirit of service.
May we humbly serve You, and our sisters and brothers, in our every word and deed. Then there will be true charity and true peace.
We make this prayer in Your holy name. Amen.
