Date of Prayer: 10/15/2021
Opening Prayer Given by the Guest Chaplain:
O God, infinite goodness, joy of angels, blessed friend, life of all lives: With Dr. Teresa of Avila, we praise You for the fire of Your love that encircles creation, inspires our hearts, and enlightens our minds. When our intentions diverge from Yours and we are breaking, You comfort us, suffer us, and patiently bear us as we are. When we have returned to Your paths, You forgive how we have offended.
Here in this House, and across this land, from the homes of the Piscataway to the Mississippi Rivershed to the mountains and deserts of the West, send Your spirit to guide us. You have no body but ours. You pray in us, work in us, look through our eyes, speak through our words, work through our hands, walk with our feet, and love with our hearts.
Help us serve with justice, rooted in the Earth, and in humility. Amen.
