Opening Prayer Given by the Guest Chaplain:
Lord God, from whom all authority flows, grant the Members of this House wisdom and prudence as they deliberate the service of the common good on behalf of our people.
Give them a special care for the neediest among us.
Give them an enduring respect for families at the foundation of our great society, and finally, Lord, give them holy reverence for those who have gone before us in these Halls, that we may build on their good work for the sake of a peaceful, prosperous future. Amen.
