One Minute Speech Given in Recognition of the Guest Chaplain:
Opening Prayer Given by the Guest Chaplain:
God of grace, You tell us in the letter to the Galatians that the whole law is fulfilled in one simple statement: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Empower us by Your spirit to live our lives full of love for You and for every living creature that bears Your image. As we enter the tenth day of the government shutdown, remind us that if we have all faith and give all our possessions to feed the poor, without love, it profits us nothing.
Lord, may we find peace in knowing that neither height, nor depth, nor things present nor things to come can separate us from Your love.
We pray in Your merciful name. Amen.
