Opening Prayer Given by the Guest Chaplain:
Lord, though many Members are traveling and serving beyond this Chamber today, we thank You that Your presence goes with them.
Grant them safety in their journeys, clarity in their decisions, and humility in their leadership. Help them to carry out their responsibilities with integrity, remembering the people they are called to serve.
Where their work brings challenge, give endurance. Where it requires discernment, give wisdom. And in all things, guide their efforts toward unity and the common good.
Bless this House, those who serve within it including the staff, doorkeepers, and Capitol Police. May their work, whether here or afar, reflect a commitment to service and the dignity of every person.
We pray in Your loving name. Amen.
