One Minute Speech Given in Recognition of the Guest Chaplain:

Mr. BROUN of Georgia. All of us are influenced by the people around us, people who come into our lives. Our guest pastor today, Bishop Jerry Hutchins , is one of those warriors who has tremendously influenced me and the people of Athens, Georgia. He is a warrior for righteousness, a warrior to establish the Kingdom here on Earth as our Lord Jesus Christ has charged us to do. He is a great friend; he is a great pastor, and I'm honored to have him here today as our guest pastor.

Opening Prayer Given by the Guest Chaplain:

Our Father in Heaven, we humbly approach your throne today.

Your servant Solomon prayed "Give me an understanding mind so that I can govern your people well and know the difference between right and wrong. For who by himself is able to govern this great nation of yours?" You responded, "Because you have asked for wisdom in governing my people and have not asked for a long life or riches for yourself or the death of your enemies, I will give you what you asked for! I will give you a wise and understanding mind such as no one else has ever had or ever will have!"

Our prayer is that you grant these men and women wisdom to govern this great nation. May your wisdom guide every decision and you be glorified. Send your Holy Spirit to guide us in your wisdom.
In His name we pray. Amen.
