The Office of the Chaplain United States House of Representatives

Chaplain John Elliott

U.S. Air Force, Arlington National Cemetery
Arlington, VA

Date of Prayer: 11/02/2018

Opening Prayer Given by the Guest Chaplain:

Father, I pray that You will bestow Your divine wisdom upon those gathered here today, as they are faced with a monumental responsibility: to decide how to lead our Nation and its people.

May this assembled body be an example of one who keeps the weight of this responsibility forever in the forefront of their mind so that their decisions will impact our Nation in positive ways for all our generations.

As we raise up the foundation of laws to govern us now, may we be called the repairer of the breach and the restorer of homes to people everywhere.

Let us always remain a country that stands for righteousness, freedom, and truth, and may the light from this Nation continue to shine forth as a beacon of hope showing what the power of God's love can produce.

Thank You for listening to our petition here today and for the blessings that You have made and will make abundant throughout this great and powerful Nation.

I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
