Opening Prayer Given by the Guest Chaplain:
God Almighty and Eternal Father, source of every good gift, we come before You in gratitude.
Bless and guide the members of this chamber, and all those who during these weeks return to their communities to listen to the people they serve. Grant them open ears and humble hearts, that their encounters with their neighbors may deepen their understanding and bear fruit in wise laws and faithful public service.
As our nation looks toward another season of choosing its representatives, temper ambition with honesty and rivalry with respect. May those who seek to serve remember that, beyond parties and political divisions, every person, in every district, is first and foremost a child of God.
Holy Spirit, fill our lawmakers with wisdom and courage. May their work strengthen the bonds that hold us together as one people, and may this country remain, under Your providence, a beacon of liberty, justice, and hope for generations to come.
