Opening Prayer Given by the Guest Chaplain:
Good and gracious God, You are an all–provident father. We thank You for including us in Your wonderful design.
As we open this session, although not burdened with the full weight of legislative work, may our hearts and minds be imbued with Your wisdom that we may continue our mission to establish peace and justice for all people.
May Your spirit guide us in our deliberations and in our watchful care of this great Nation which we call our home. Bless all of us and never let us stray from Your attentive and fatherly care nor from Your compassionate love.
We ask this in the name of the Lord. Amen.
